Anna visits Dean’s dream, telling him to meet her. At the meeting place, Anna is met by Castiel. She’s been in prison, and Castiel believes they’ve sent her on a mission. She tells him that Sam has to die because he is Lucifer’s vessel.

It brings great sadness to hear about the passing of Frances Reid, the heart and soul, the matriarch of NBC’s Days of our Lives.
For millions of people, for generations of fans, Frances Reid was like a 2nd mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Who wouldn’t want Frances Reid as Alice Horton bake you some of her famous doughnuts?
I grew up watching Days of our Lives. My grandparents, my aunt, and my parents too when they had the day off, would sit and watch the lives of Salem residents unravel. And even though I was young enough that my eyes would get covered up often, Days of our Lives is definitely a big part of my TV life.
France Reid was an incredible talent and an amazing presence. For the entire run of Days of our Lives, she as matriarch Alice Horton truly welcomed us into her home as we did to her. Partnered with the late MacDonald Carey as patriarch Dr. Tom Horton, they were everyone’s grandparents for an hour each day.
They represented warmth and love in a genre that stereotypically features lies and sex. MacDonald Carey passed away in 1994 and Frances Reid continued on Days, making Alice Horton even more warm and caring and introducing her to a new generation.
During the biggest stunt in Days of our Lives history, the Salem Stalker storyline, headwriter, the late James E. Reilly had the balls to include Alice in his list of victims. Though the entire thing was reversed quickly, fans were beyond outraged. The impact of her character was undeniable.
Frances Reid will be remembered for a career that spanned more than 60 years, but most especially for her role on Days of our Lives, one of the most enduring characters on television.
Days cast members have tweeted how honored they were to have known and worked with Frances Reid. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that as a fan, I am honored to have watched and had Frances Reid allow us to welcome her into our homes.
Our prayers and thoughts are with Frances’ family. May she rest peace.
And most of all thank you Ms. Frances Reid.
I’ll be loving you, oh Always
With a love that’s true Always.
When the things you’ve planned
Need a helping hand,
I will understand Always.
Jay Leno probably allowed the most exposure and promo for Friday Night Lights in one two minute spoof than NBC has done in the last two seasons. In a segment where Jay introduces several ideas NBC had for a possible replacement program for him (which included spoofs of Fox’s Human Target and MTV’s Jersey Shore), he first introduces a drama from the creators of Friday Night Lights. Familiar characters, faux-Connie Britton, inspirational Coach Taylor speeches… it was all there. Probably foreign to most, it was a funny and fun parody of FNL.
The real Friday Night Lights is wrapping up its 4th season run on DirecTV with its final two episodes of the season, while NBC airs Season 4 beginning April 30th.
You will either love Starz’s new epic Spartacus: Blood and Sand or you may be appalled.
If sex, full frontal nudity, and graphic violence complete with blood splatters and chopped limbs make you queasy, then this isn’t the show for you. But if you can get through all of that stuff, then you’ll find yourself a good, fun time.
No question, probably the most talked about aspects of Spartacus are those sex scenes, genital, and seas of blood, but more importantly, does it have a story? And is it any good?

Sam & Dean get themselves committed to find out about mysterious deaths at the institution. Funny or maybe sad enough, them telling the truth about the Apocalypse is what gets them locked up.
Patients have died, seemingly suicide, but they’ve all said they’ve seen monsters, though of course, no one believes them.
Sam & Dean go to the morgue to look into, literally, the most recent death which they were too late in stopping. Sam drills the guy’s head open and finds the guy’s brain. “Dude! The guy’s brain’s been sucked dry!” Dean warns of someone coming. They put the guy back together and it turns out it is Keep reading →
Right off the bat, Syfy’s new series Caprica is not Battlestar Galactica. First, the network is promoting the series as its own entity, no reference to its source material. Second, creators Ron Moore and David Eick say it is its own entity, with basically “easter eggs” for BSG fans.
It turns out, this is a very good thing for Caprica. While comparisons are unavoidable, Caprica holds up better when judged on its own merits and forgetting, for at least an hour each week, that it is not part of the Battlestar Galactica world and franchise.
And of course, you don’t need to have seen a single minute of Battlestar Galactica to be able to jump right into Caprica. Keep reading →
So, NBC has made a big deal about saving money. One of the best ways to do that (aside from airing a comedy program five nights a week) is to take part in international co-productions. Pay for half plus you get different styles and feels for series than the usual broadcast fare.
Well, so far NBC swiftly canceled its three international co-productions last year, Crusoe, The Listener, and The Philanthropist. The Listener especially hampered by a horrible lead-in courtesy of 30 Rock repeats. (Yet the series did very well in Canada.)
Another co-production, Persons Unknown is waiting in the wings. 13 episodes ready to go and with NBC filling slots on its line-up post-Olympics… they pass on this drama. After NBC’s episode count confirmation today, Persons Unknown is still on deck, but don’t hold your breath it’ll actually air (in the US at least). Right John Cho? (*cough*The Singles Table*cough*)
Anyway, here’s the trailer for the series and it seems very Prisoner/Twin Peaks-y with a little Kidnapped:
ABS-CBN may not care all that much for the show these days, but the public still do (the show wins the nationwide ratings) and TFC subscribers abroad make a point to book seats for the show when they return home. And it’s moments like these that prove just how amazing Wowowee can be.
For this episode, airing Tuesday, January 19th, Willie of Fortune featured people who worked at the palengke or the market who had different talents. Jane was the contestant who won and got to play in the Cash Bukas (Cash Open) jackpot round where she could win a tricycle and clothing franchise, P100,000, P500,000, or P1 Million (about US$22,000). Here is what happened… Keep reading →
While USA Network certainly was no stranger to original scripted programming (classics La Femme Nikita and Pacific Blue quickly come to mind), the last couple of years have seen them have an excellent track record in developing hit, quality television. Though not as barrier busting as FX or AMC, USA takes its “Characters Welcome” slogan and runs with it in various light, fun, and just plain enjoyable shows.
While USA also has done well with more serious fare like The 4400, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and In Plain Sight, their lighter dramas and comedies have been the ones to really hit home. Keep reading →
Edited to bold the line below because apparently Conan being much sought after in 2004 is not common knowledge. What?
With the NBC late-night drama continuing, more and more people are getting into the discussion. But really, it’s more of a witch hunt on Jay Leno.
My question is, why all the hate on Jay Leno?
First of all, it was in September 2004 that NBC announced Conan O’Brien would take over as Tonight Show host in 2009 all in an effort to stop Conan from possibly moving to then Kimmel-less ABC or Fox. CBS was even in the picture as they were looking for someone to replace Craig Kilborn.
Enter Jeff Zucker and his bright ideas, he goes to Jay Leno with the idea, Jay has no choice but to agree and say he’ll retire anyway. He could very well have planned on retiring in 2009… but five years is a long time. Things change.
NBC has released their post-Olympics/post-primetime Leno schedule and it looks pretty solid, doesn’t appear they had to scramble much to fill the newly opened slots.
Here’s a glance at the schedule, which includes the premieres of new drama Parenthood and reality shows The Marriage Ref and Who Do You Think You Are? as well as the broadcast premiere of Friday Night Lights (April 30th!). Keep reading →
Well, it wasn’t a huge explosion, but NBC execs Jeff Gaspin and Angela “We can’t promote Kings in 3o seconds” Bromstad came out of the Television Critics Association panel today alive. Still, they made a lot of interesting (and some depressing) announcements.
Reposted from November 20. Looks like NBC keeps digging itself a bigger hole with today’s news of Leno/Conan and everything else. I will add one more suggestion though…
GET RID OF JEFF ZUCKER
He’s put NBC in the position it is in today. Why in the world would you trust him going forward?!?!
You could probably go into any college Media Studies, Film, Television, Writing, Communications class in the country and find someone who can run NBC better than those honchos currently running the oldest broadcast network on television (if you include the radio years).
NBC is doing too hot right now and the possibility of this huge deal with Comcast looked like a just the thing that could jump start the network.
Until they said no matter what happens, Jeff Zucker would stay in charge. Umm… that’s probably not going to help anything. One reason I was very excited about the deal with Comcast was that fresh blood would be infused into NBC Universal and hopefully that fresh blood would help Keep reading →
The 2000s have come and gone. A new decade is about to begin and lists of the best movies, music, television, paint colors, boy band, furniture, light fixtures, etc. are pouring in. As we close out 2009 and the 2000s, I thought about my own list. But my list of television shows aren’t necessarily “the best,” but the shows that defined my decade. The shows that meant something to me the last ten years, shows that left their mark in my mind and in some cases my heart as well.
CAPRICA not as hot this week as it was last week I thought :( @SergeGraystone continues to be awesome though =] ·· 3 days ago
The celebrity choir and Charo Santos as Mary killed the emotion of the MAY BUKAS PA finale. Charo was hilarious, but the ASAP choir was lame ·· 4 days ago

Why All the Leno Hate? It’s All Mother Zucker’s Fault, He’s the One Who Ruined NBC.
